A few years ago my wife bought me a
Gibson Flying V for Christmas. It was the faded ‘Special’ and while it played superbly I was never enamored with the the faded styling or the standard pickups. I have always lusted after a White model but they seem to be quite rare. As a 14 year old boy my father made me one which I used for several gigs. Embarrassing 1983 picture below.

So last year I took the V over to a professional guitar repairer in Stoke and had him paint it White and install a pair of Active
EMG Humbuckers - an 81 and an 85. This guitar is now the perfect model for me. Plays like a dream, looks and sounds superb. I just need more time to play it
